Are you OCD about your house being clean? Yeah, I know the feeling and there are certain tasks that need to be done daily or else I can’t rest or go to sleep. I need my house to at least appear to be clean, and I’m easily overwhelmed by mess and clutter. And if you feel the same way I do, here are some really simple cleaning chores that actually give me an instant pick me up and will help me with my cleaning OCD (and the great thing about them is that they can all be done in about ten minutes or less).
A clean microwave
Have you seen inside your microwave lately? Probably not, but I’m always peaking inside to see the mess my husband and kids made. I can’t stand a dirty microwave and as a heavily used appliance, I freak out whenever I see food explosions and droppings. I clean it at least ten times a week! And it just takes a few minutes when you clean it with vinegar. All you need to do is pour one cup of vinegar and one cup hot water in a microwave-safe bowl, nuke it for about 10 minutes or so and then get a wet towel to wipe all the nasty gunk away!
Dust the blinds
My youngest has allergies and dust is one of his allergens, which is probably one of the reasons why I clean so much. One of the biggest dust problem areas I’ve found are my blinds, which are often overlooked when cleaning. But here’s a super easy trick to clean them and all you need are kitchen tongs, a towel and about five minutes! Grab the towel by your tongs and then go over each blind with them to catch the dust.
Clean the sink
I get anxiety when I see dishes loaded up in the sink and can’t go to sleep without washing them. I’m one of those people who prefer to wash them by hand than to use my dishwasher, but I’ve found that when I really commit myself to use it, it allows me to clean my sink better because I’m not solely focused on clean dishes. Using Rejuvenate’s Disposer and Pipe Cleaner gives my sink a good cleaning and makes the entire kitchen smell amazing!
